Firefighters from the East Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department and the Palmyra Fire Department participated in a joint training exercise focused on vehicle stabilization techniques. The training, which took place earlier today, aimed to enhance first responders’ ability to safely lift vehicles and assist entrapped patients in emergency situations.
During the exercise, firefighters utilized wooden cribbing and airbags to practice stabilizing and lifting a vehicle. The hands-on training provided an opportunity for members of both departments to refine their skills in a controlled setting, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-life rescue scenarios.
Emergency responders frequently encounter vehicle crashes where proper stabilization is critical to safely extricating occupants. Training sessions like this help firefighters stay proficient in using specialized equipment and working collaboratively across departments.
Both fire departments continue to prioritize training efforts to improve response capabilities and community safety.
