A Lansing woman was arrested on March 11 on a felony driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge following a traffic stop in the Town of Tyre, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Tim Thompson reported that deputies pulled over Melissa Ipson, 44, for alleged speeding and failure to keep right. Following an investigation, authorities determined that Ipson was operating her vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .12%.
Due to a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, the charge was elevated to a felony. Ipson was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and later released with an appearance ticket.
She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
