Inmate at Ontario County Jail Faces Assault Charge

A 29-year-old inmate at Ontario County Jail has been charged with assault in the second degree following an alleged incident involving another incarcerated individual.

According to law enforcement reports, Marcus K. St. Denis was arrested on March 4, 2025, after an investigation by the criminal investigation division. Authorities state that while St. Denis was in custody, he allegedly attacked another inmate, repeatedly punching them in the face and head, causing physical injuries.

St. Denis is expected to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Law enforcement officials have not provided further details about the victim’s condition or whether additional charges may be filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
