A Huron man was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after an anonymous tip led Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies to investigate his whereabouts on Whiskey Hill Road in the Town of Butler.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Christopher Lieberman, 66, of Stone Road in Huron on February 5, 2025. The arrest followed a report alleging that Lieberman had left his residence and was driving while intoxicated.
Deputies located Lieberman in the parking lot of a local business and, during their interaction, detected the smell of alcohol on his breath, authorities said. Standardized field sobriety tests were reportedly administered, after which Lieberman was taken into custody on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Officials say he was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he declined to submit to a chemical breath test.
Lieberman was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing and scheduled for centralized arraignment on February 6, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. He has since been released.
