A Geneva man was taken into custody earlier this month on an outstanding bench warrant related to felony charges in Ontario County.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 34-year-old Joel Hernandez-Acevedo on April 2 at approximately 11:01 a.m. at an apartment located at 43 Genesee Street in the City of Geneva. The arrest was carried out in response to an active bench warrant issued on January 9 by Judge Doran.
The warrant was issued after Hernandez-Acevedo allegedly failed to appear in court to face charges of burglary in the first degree and assault with a weapon.
Following his arrest, Hernandez-Acevedo was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending a court appearance.
