Geneseo Wegmans Sells $8K Winning TAKE 5 Lottery Ticket

A Wegmans shopper in Geneseo is holding a winning TAKE 5 ticket worth over $8,000 following Monday night’s drawing.

According to the New York Lottery, the ticket—valued at $8,042—was purchased at the Wegmans located at 4287 Genesee Valley Plaza. The winning numbers were drawn during the March 25 evening draw.

TAKE 5 is a daily lottery game that selects five numbers from 1 to 39, with drawings held twice a day at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Winning tickets must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

Lottery officials note that proceeds from ticket sales help fund public education across the state. In the 2023–2024 fiscal year, the New York Lottery contributed $3.8 billion to schools statewide.
