Geneseo Man Arrested for Alleged Threats Against Law Enforcement at Livingston County Jail
Sheriff’s officials allege that Gminski made verbal threats against deputies and their family members, including statements about harming them or having them harmed by others outside the facility.
A Geneseo man was arrested on February 13 following an incident at the Livingston County Jail, where he allegedly made threats against law enforcement officers and their families, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities report that around 8:45 a.m., 32-year-old Leslie Gminski became disruptive at the jail after an administrative decision related to a previous incident involving him. Sheriff’s officials allege that Gminski made verbal threats against deputies and their family members, including statements about harming them or having them harmed by others outside the facility. Jail personnel were able to de-escalate the situation.
Later that day, investigators charged Gminski with felony Making a Terroristic Threat. He was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) before Town of Lima Justice Schwing. Under New York’s Justice Reform Act, the charge did not qualify for bail, and Gminski was released on his own recognizance.
At the arraignment, Gminski was represented by the Livingston County Public Defender’s Office, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was present on behalf of the prosecution.
The case remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Jail Division.
