A Galen man has been arrested following an investigation into a complaint involving a bad check and petit larceny, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies took Joseph A. Smith, 51, into custody after responding to a report from Rose’s Quick Stop in Savannah. The business filed a complaint regarding an incident that occurred on January 26 and January 28, 2025, alleging that Smith issued a bad check and engaged in petit larceny.
Following the investigation, authorities located Smith on Lopez Lane in Savannah, where he was identified and arrested. He was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing before being released on an appearance ticket.
Smith is scheduled to appear in Savannah Town Court at a later date to respond to the charge.
