Fugitive Alert: Owego Man Wanted on Burglary Charges in Pennsylvania

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Nicholas R. Whitmarsh, 31, of Owego, who is wanted in connection with burglary and related charges in Pennsylvania.

An arrest warrant for Whitmarsh was issued on January 22, 2025, by authorities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a result, he is currently classified as a fugitive from justice.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, a joint investigation with Pennsylvania State Police (Towanda Barracks) has been underway regarding a series of burglaries that occurred in northeastern Pennsylvania in October 2024. The investigation also involves stolen property recovered during a search warrant execution on October 29, 2024, at a residence on South Main Street in the Village of Nichols, New York.

Authorities have received recent reports indicating that Whitmarsh may be in the Village of Owego area. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office at (607) 687-1010.
