Free Car Seat Check Event Scheduled for March 9 in Syracuse

The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, located at 5655 Thompson Road, Syracuse, NY 13214.

Parents and caregivers looking to ensure their child's car seat is properly installed will have the opportunity to do so at a free Car Seat Check Event on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, located at 5655 Thompson Road, Syracuse, NY 13214.

The event, sponsored by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and conducted in collaboration with the New York State Police, aims to promote child passenger safety by offering professional inspections and guidance on proper car seat installation.

Attendees are encouraged to install their car seat before arriving and, if possible, bring their child along to ensure a proper fit. Certified technicians will be available to check car seats for safety compliance and provide hands-on assistance to help parents and guardians make necessary adjustments.

Child safety seats play a critical role in preventing injuries in car accidents, but studies show that many are improperly installed. This free event is designed to provide peace of mind to parents and caregivers by ensuring children are secured safely while traveling.
