A former assistant teacher from Batavia has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after being convicted on child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York.

Prosecutors stated that between January 2018 and July 2021, Hagen engaged in illegal conduct involving a child between the ages of 4 and 8, recording and distributing images online.
Authorities also reported that between May and July 2018, while employed as an assistant teacher at the Brockport Childhood Development Center, Hagen produced and possessed explicit images of children under his care. According to investigators, the children ranged in age from six months to five years.
In addition to these offenses, prosecutors said Hagen possessed approximately 50,000 images and videos of child pornography obtained from the internet.
