FLCC Student Awarded Criminal Justice Scholarship
The New York State Sheriffs’ Institute provides scholarships and programs aimed at supporting students interested in law enforcement careers.
Mason Thompson, a student at Finger Lakes Community College, has been awarded the 2024 New York State Sheriffs’ Institute Criminal Justice Scholarship. The $500 scholarship is presented annually to a student pursuing a career in criminal justice while maintaining academic excellence.
Thompson was selected by his professors for the award, which was presented to him on Tuesday morning at the college by Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione.
Originally from Farmington, Thompson has expressed his goal of becoming a police officer.
