A federal grand jury has indicted five individuals from Jamestown, N.Y., on charges related to drug trafficking, firearm possession, and obstruction of justice, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Joel Louis Violanti.
The defendants—Andres Pizzaro Campos (also known as "Kiki"), 33; Max Pizzaro Campos, 34; Cindy Frank, 52; Edward Leeper (also known as "Edward Barnes"), 46; and Jaquez L. Thomas (also known as "Quez"), 21—are accused of participating in a narcotics conspiracy involving heroin and fentanyl distribution in the Jamestown area. The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with a maximum penalty of life.
In addition, Andres and Max Pizzaro Campos face additional charges related to possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and maintaining a drug-involved premises, which could add a mandatory minimum of five years to any sentence. Cindy Frank is also charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly providing false testimony regarding the drug trafficking activities of Joseph S. Zaso, another individual implicated in the case.
According to the indictment, the conspiracy took place between 2018 and May 2022, with Andres and Max Pizzaro Campos allegedly using a residence on Hazzard Street in Jamestown as a base for their operations. Law enforcement agencies, including the Jamestown Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, were involved in the investigation, which was part of the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative.
Zaso, who was previously charged and convicted, is currently awaiting sentencing.
