Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a structure fire Wednesday evening at Maple Lane Trailer Park on Brandt Road in Lyons. The call came in at 6:26 p.m., with Lyons Fire Department arriving first on the scene.
Lyons Fire Chief Phil Darcangelis led the response, assisted by Lyons Assistant Chief Dan DeWolf. The fire was declared under control at 6:47 p.m., thanks to coordinated efforts by Lyons and Newark Fire Departments.
Newark Fire Department joined the response at 6:35 p.m., with Chief Jeffrey Miller and Assistant Chiefs Doug Velte and Jake Powell overseeing their team. Lyons Engines 6 and 7, along with Newark Engine 30, were deployed to extinguish the flames.
The homeowner sustained burns to his arm during the incident. His condition has not been released, but emergency medical personnel from Wayne County Medic 2 and other responders were on hand to provide care.
Law enforcement agencies, including the New York State Police and Wayne County Sheriff's Office, also assisted at the scene. Newark Fire units were released at 7:43 p.m., while Lyons firefighters remained on-site until 9:48 p.m. to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was secure.
No additional injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
