A structure fire on State Route 414 in the town of Rose on Thursday evening resulted in one person being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and firefighters responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., where they observed smoke and flames coming from a mobile camper and a nearby storage barn. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the storage barn, and the flames were extinguished shortly after their arrival.
One male sustained injuries due to the fire and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
Multiple fire departments, including Rose, North Rose, Wallington, and Alton Fire Departments, as well as Wayne County EMS, assisted in the emergency response.
