A structure fire broke out at a residence on Cooley Road in the Town of Canandaigua on the night of January 24, prompting a response from local emergency services.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the scene at approximately 10:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire. The investigation determined that the fire originated in the living room fireplace before spreading to nearby kindling and the surrounding area. While the majority of the damage was contained to the living room, emergency responders worked to prevent further spread.
Fire departments from Cheshire and East Bloomfield, along with Canandaigua Ambulance, responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.
Officials from the Ontario County Fire Coordinator’s Office, in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Office, have determined that the fire was not suspicious in nature.
