A Farmington woman was killed early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 4 in the Town of Geneva, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:20 a.m. on April 6, where they discovered that 36-year-old Alyssa J. Coleman had died at the site of the crash. Coleman had been driving eastbound when her vehicle veered off the road’s south shoulder and struck a large tree.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team and the Criminal Investigation Division were called in to investigate. County Road 4 remained closed for around three and a half hours as crews worked the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash. However, the incident remains under investigation.
