Dominican Republic Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Re-Entry in Rochester Court
He was initially ordered removed from the United States in June 2000 but did not surrender himself for deportation. In October 2003, he was arrested in Rochester.
A Dominican Republic man has pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry after deportation and has been transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Rolando Antonio Rosado, 59, entered his plea before Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford and was sentenced to time served.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, Rosado was initially ordered removed from the United States in June 2000 but did not surrender himself for deportation. In October 2003, he was arrested in Rochester and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Following his conviction, he was deported in April 2004.
Authorities say Rosado re-entered the U.S. illegally in 2014, crossing the border near Laredo, Texas. He was located in the Western District of New York on September 26, 2024, leading to his recent prosecution.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan.
