Deputies: Fairport Man Used Fraudulent Credit Cards for Bristol Mountain Ski Passes
Investigators believe the scheme was carried out multiple times, resulting in an estimated financial loss of $554 for Bristol Mountain.
A Fairport man was arrested on February 5, 2025 following an investigation into alleged fraudulent transactions at Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies took 19-year-old Joseph Charles Franchuk into custody at approximately 6:39 p.m. on charges of theft of services and petit larceny. Authorities allege that Franchuk used fraudulent credit cards to purchase day passes at the resort and then sought refunds while retaining access to the passes.
Investigators believe the scheme was carried out multiple times, resulting in an estimated financial loss of $554 for Bristol Mountain. Following his arrest, Franchuk was issued an appearance ticket for the charges. He is scheduled to appear in South Bristol Town Court at a later date.
