A City of Cortland man has been charged with two counts of petit larceny following incidents at two retail stores in the Town of Cortlandville, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a larceny complaint at Walmart, located at 819 Bennie Road, on February 21 at approximately 12:32 p.m. Upon investigation, officers determined that Napoleon N. Tetreault, 57, had allegedly stolen merchandise from the store. Further inquiry revealed that Tetreault was also involved in a separate theft at JCPenney, located at 854 Route 13.
Tetreault was taken into custody and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Cortlandville Town Court on March 3 at 1 p.m.
Authorities have not disclosed the specific items involved in the thefts.
