Cicero Woman Sentenced to 25 Months in Federal Drug Case
A former Cicero resident has been sentenced to just over two years in prison for her role in a drug trafficking operation that distributed methamphetamine in Onondaga County and other areas of Central New York.
Erin Rushford, 50, was sentenced Wednesday to 25 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to participating in a conspiracy to transport methamphetamine from California to the Northern District of New York, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
Court documents and statements made during her plea agreement indicate that from February 2020 to April 2021, Rushford received shipments of methamphetamine at her home and a relative’s residence. She then transferred the packages to other individuals involved in the operation and also sold the drug herself.
In addition to her prison term, Senior U.S. District Judge David N. Hurd ordered Rushford to serve three years of supervised release following her incarceration. She was also ordered to forfeit $3,160.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation division, the New York State Police, and local law enforcement agencies in New York, Oklahoma, and California. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie prosecuted the case.
