The Cayuga County Health Department, in partnership with the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York, will host a free rabies vaccination clinic on Friday, April 4, 2025. The clinic will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 41 York St. in Auburn.
The event is open to dogs, cats, and ferrets that are at least four months old. To ensure safety, dogs must be on a leash and muzzled if necessary, while cats and ferrets must be transported in carriers, with only one animal per carrier.
Pet owners who can provide proof of prior rabies vaccination will be eligible for a three-year rabies vaccine. However, rabies tags alone will not be accepted as proof. Ferrets will receive one-year vaccination certificates.
While walk-ins are welcome, organizers encourage pet owners to register in advance. For more information or to register, residents can contact the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York at (315) 253-5841.
