Canandaigua Woman Charged with Petit Larceny at Tops Market

A Canandaigua woman has been charged with petit larceny following an incident at a local grocery store, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities reported that Claire Elle Keating, 41, was arrested on March 7, 2025, around 11:20 a.m. at Tops Market on North Street in Canandaigua. The arrest followed an investigation into a larceny complaint at the store.

Officials allege that Keating was observed selecting and concealing merchandise valued at $165.67 before leaving the store without paying. As a result, she was issued a trespass notice, barring her from returning to the property.

Keating was given an appearance ticket for the Town of Canandaigua Court, where she is expected to address the charges at a later date.
