The Rural Police Academy celebrated its 36th Annual Basic Police Course Graduation on March 1, 2025, at Genesee Community College, recognizing 15 newly certified officers representing 10 different law enforcement agencies.
Among the graduates was Officer Hussein Al Hasooni of the Canandaigua Police Department. Officer Al Hasooni has been recently assigned as the School Resource Officer at Canandaigua Middle School, where he will serve as a liaison between law enforcement and the school community.
The academy provides foundational training for law enforcement officers, preparing them for their roles in public safety. The graduation marks the beginning of service for these new officers, who will now transition into their respective agencies.
Officer Al Hasooni's new role as a School Resource Officer will focus on ensuring student safety, fostering positive relationships, and providing guidance within the school environment.
The Canandaigua Police Department extended its support to all graduates and expressed anticipation for Officer Al Hasooni’s contributions to the community in his new position.
