A Canandaigua man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop on State Route 96, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies pulled over Michael R. French, 26, at approximately 2:33 a.m. During the stop, authorities conducted a roadside investigation and allegedly found French in possession of cocaine. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.
In addition to the drug charge, French faces multiple traffic-related offenses, including speeding, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, and failure to signal within 100 feet.
French was issued uniform traffic tickets along with an appearance ticket and is expected to answer the charges in Victor Town Court at a later date.
Authorities did not release further details about the incident.
