A traffic stop in the early hours of Sunday, January 26, led to the arrest of a Canandaigua couple on drug-related charges, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities reported that deputies stopped a vehicle on McCann Road in the Town of Canandaigua at approximately 1:47 a.m. During the stop, deputies discovered two controlled substances inside the vehicle.
The vehicle’s occupants, Lori A. McDonald, 39, and Anthony J. McDonald, 35, were each issued appearance tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
In addition to the drug-related charge, Lori McDonald received multiple traffic tickets, including citations for non-operational lamps, failure to use a turn signal, missing front license plate, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle, unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation, and operating a vehicle without a court-ordered interlock device.
Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
