Fire crews responded to a house fire on Stoney Lonesome Road late Thursday morning, with multiple agencies working together to contain the blaze and prevent further damage. The Pultneyville Fire Company was dispatched at 10:20 a.m. following a report of a basement fire. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed an active fire in the basement of the home.
Assisting in the response were the East Williamson Fire Department, Williamson Fire Company #1, Williamson Ambulance, Ontario Ambulance, Ontario Fire Company, Marion Fire Department, New York State Police, and several Wayne County emergency services, including the Fire Coordinator’s Office and Fire Cause and Origin Investigation team. Walworth Fire provided coverage at the Williamson Fire Station, while Lincoln Fire stood by in Ontario.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all personnel returned home safely. Although firefighters managed to save the structure, the basement sustained significant fire damage, and smoke affected other parts of the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
