A 34-year-old Auburn woman was arrested following a single-car crash on Grant Avenue Road in the town of Sennett on February 22, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies, along with a New York State Trooper, responded to the scene near Weedsport-Sennett Road at approximately 10:22 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities determined that the driver, Tiffany A. Skarr, required medical attention. Auburn City Ambulance and the Sennett Fire Department were dispatched, and Skarr was transported to Auburn Community Hospital for evaluation.
Following further investigation, deputies determined that Skarr was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs. Authorities also found that the vehicle had been taken without the owner’s consent.
Skarr was subsequently charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, first offense (misdemeanor), Unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree (misdemeanor), and additional vehicle and traffic violations.
She was issued tickets to appear in Sennett Town Court on March 12 at 5:00 p.m. for the traffic-related offenses. Additionally, the unauthorized use charge, which occurred in Auburn, requires her to appear in Auburn City Court on March 10 at 9:15 a.m.
Skarr is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail on unrelated charges.
