A 33-year-old Auburn man was arrested last week in connection with a domestic incident in the Town of Fleming, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Justin K. Nwajei was taken into custody on March 20 and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and aggravated family offense, a felony.
The charges stem from an incident reported on March 15, when deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint near the traffic circle on West Lake Road around 9:37 a.m. Investigators determined that a dispute had taken place between Nwajei and a female victim, during which Nwajei allegedly kicked and damaged the door of her residence.
Due to prior convictions, Nwajei was charged with the aggravated family offense in addition to the criminal mischief charge, officials said. Following his arraignment in Cayuga County’s Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court, he was remanded to the county jail without bail.
Authorities also noted that Nwajei was on parole, having been released from the state prison system in December 2024.
