Auburn Man Arrested for Alleged Thefts of Power Tools from Aurelius Home Depot Valued Over $3K
A Cayuga County man has been arrested in connection with a series of alleged thefts at a Home Depot in the Town of Aurelius.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies launched an investigation on February 21 into multiple incidents of larceny at the store, located on Clark Street Road. The suspect, identified as Steven M. Confer, 54, of Auburn, was also being investigated by the Auburn City Police Department in connection with similar incidents.
Authorities say Confer allegedly entered the Home Depot on four separate occasions and left with various power tools without paying. The total value of the stolen items was reported to be $3,397.
Confer was taken into custody on March 10 and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. He was remanded to the Cayuga County Jail without bail and is also facing charges from Auburn police.
