A Lockport man was arrested on multiple charges, including burglary and weapons possession, following an investigation into a reported menacing incident earlier this year.
According to the New York State Police, 29-year-old Jaquan J. Wright was taken into custody on March 4 by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Task Force. Authorities located Wright on Chapel Street in the city of Lockport, where he was found in possession of a 9mm handgun without a serial number and a loaded high-capacity magazine.
The charges stem from an incident on January 3, when state police responded to a report of menacing involving a handgun at a residence on Dysinger Road in the town of Lockport. Investigators determined that Wright had attempted to force entry into the home and allegedly threatened multiple individuals with a black handgun.
Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by the Lockport Town Court. After his arrest, Wright was transported to the State Police barracks in Lockport for processing before being transferred to the Lockport Police Department, where he was held for CAP arraignment.
Wright faces multiple charges, including second-degree burglary, second-degree menacing, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The case remains under investigation.
