Arcadia Man Arrested, Accused of Providing False Name After Crash to Avoid Tow Bill
A Wayne County man was arrested on multiple charges following an investigation that stemmed from a minor motor vehicle accident and later escalated into a domestic dispute.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 52-year-old Michael W. Wilson of Pulver Road, Arcadia, on charges of criminal impersonation in the second degree and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
Authorities allege that Wilson was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident earlier in the day. During the initial investigation, he reportedly provided deputies with a false name, identifying himself as William Wilson. The accident was resolved, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Later that day, after the vehicle’s tow bill was discovered, a dispute arose at a residence involving Wilson and a family member. Deputies responded to the incident and, during the course of their investigation, determined Wilson’s true identity. The same deputy who handled the earlier accident then placed Wilson under arrest.
Wilson was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19 at 3:00 p.m.
