Annual NYS 4-H Animal Crackers Event Set for May 2025
The annual NYS 4-H Animal Crackers event is set to take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, offering youth ages 8 to 12 an opportunity to learn about dairy, goats, poultry, and rabbits/cavies through hands-on experiences and educational activities.
Hosted by Cornell University’s 4-H Animal Science Program, the event aims to introduce young participants to various aspects of animal care and management. The program is designed to engage youth with interactive workshops, guided instruction from animal science professionals, and opportunities to work directly with animals.
Registration for the event opens on March 19, 2025, with a deadline of April 23, 2025. The participation fee is $25 per youth and $15 per chaperone, which includes lunch. Youth participants will receive a complimentary event T-shirt, while additional shirts will be available for purchase for adults.
The event is expected to draw participants from across New York State, providing them with valuable exposure to animal science while fostering responsibility and hands-on learning.
