Animal Auction Returns to Red Creek Fire Department This April
The Red Creek Fire Department will host its upcoming Animal Auction on Saturday, April 5, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Red Creek Fire Department will host its upcoming Animal Auction on Saturday, April 5, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the Red Creek Fire Department, located at 7024 Main Street in Red Creek, and promises a wide variety of animals and goods for auction.
This auction is an opportunity for local farmers and animal enthusiasts to buy and sell small livestock and other items. Available animals will include rabbits, ducks, geese, feeder pigs, goats, pigeons, peafowl, peacocks, chickens, lambs, baby chicks and ducklings, as well as related supplies such as cages and aquariums. Organizers encourage attendees to expect "always something different and always fun."
Auction consignment begins at 7 a.m., with no consignments accepted after 10 a.m. Sellers are reminded that boxes containing animals must have ventilation holes on all four sides to ensure proper airflow and safety. Items that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted.
Attendees should also note a few key details:
Large box lots are limited to 20 boxes per consignor.
All buyers must register for a bidding number with valid ID.
Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), and good New York State checks. Credit card payments will include a 4% charge.
A 10% buyer’s premium will be added to all purchases.
In addition to the auction, breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, providing an opportunity for attendees to enjoy refreshments during the event.
Auctioneer James C. Hoyt will oversee the event, facilitated by Village Auction Company. Checks for sold consignments will be available the Wednesday following the auction.
