The American Red Cross is organizing a blood drive at the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the department’s training room, located at 7445 County House Road in Auburn.
The Red Cross encourages community members to donate blood and help meet the ongoing demand for transfusions. Donors with blood types O, B-negative, or A-negative are also invited to consider making a Power Red donation, a process that collects concentrated red blood cells to support patients in need.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering the sponsor code "CayugaSheriff." To expedite the donation process, participants can complete a pre-donation health screening online through the Red Cross’s RapidPass program.
As an incentive, those who donate between April 1 and April 13 will receive a $15 gift card via email and be entered for a chance to win a $5,000 prize.
