Alton Woman Arrested in Connection to 2024 Crash That Led to Mercy Flight Response
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the woman was operating her vehicle while impaired by marijuana.
A Wayne County woman has been arrested following an investigation into a two-vehicle crash that occurred in June 2024.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Sarah Tuper, 33, of Alton, in connection with the crash. Authorities allege that Tuper was operating a vehicle southbound on Covell Road in the Town of Rose when she failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of Covell Road and Wayne Center Rose Road. Her vehicle then collided with another vehicle traveling westbound on Wayne Center Rose Road.
One occupant of the second vehicle was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that Tuper was operating her vehicle while impaired by marijuana. She has been charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
Tuper is scheduled to appear in Rose Town Court for arraignment on March 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
