Alton, Sodus Point Fire Departments, Sheriffs Conduct Ice Water Rescue Training

Members of the Alton Fire Company, Sodus Point Fire Department, and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office gathered this morning for an ice water rescue training session, aimed at enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies on frozen bodies of water.

The training focused on essential techniques to safely and efficiently perform rescues in icy conditions, ensuring that first responders are well-prepared for potential emergencies. Ice water rescues require specialized skills and equipment, as cold water exposure can quickly become life-threatening.
