61-Year-Old Cleveland Man Traveled to New York to Sexually Abuse 14-Year-Old Girl
A Cleveland man has pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges related to child exploitation, including traveling across state lines to engage in illegal conduct with a minor, transporting explicit images, and possession of child sexual abuse materials.
David P. Greulich, 61, admitted to communicating with a 14-year-old from Jefferson County, New York, via the Snapchat messaging app in early 2024, according to court documents. Prosecutors say he drove more than 400 miles to pick up the victim on April 20, 2024, and took her to a hotel where he allegedly engaged in sexual abuse, recording portions of it on a digital device. He later returned to New York on May 11, 2024, and again recorded explicit content involving the victim.
A federal search of Greulich’s home led to the discovery of multiple electronic devices containing child sexual abuse materials, authorities said. Investigators found over 100 images of the victim, as well as additional video files in his cloud storage account.
Greulich faces a maximum possible sentence of 180 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for June 23, 2025, and will be determined by a federal judge based on sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Cleveland Office, with support from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Margaret A. Kane and Segev Phillips are prosecuting the case.
