Local 4-H members will have an opportunity to learn about poultry processing through an upcoming educational tour. The Poultry Processing Clinic is scheduled for May 10 at 9:00 a.m. and will take place at HLW Acres, 1727 Exchange St, Attica, NY.
The event will provide youth with insight into the poultry processing industry, including how chickens and turkeys are prepared for market. Participants will tour the facility and learn about the different steps involved in poultry processing. The clinic is particularly beneficial for those involved in the 4-H Livestock Auction Program, as it offers a closer look at how poultry is processed for auction.
Herman Weber, a processor who works with 4-H auction poultry projects, will be featured during the event. Organizers encourage interested participants to reach out for more details.
