The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a second 14-year-old juvenile in connection with a December burglary at a business in the Town of Veteran. The juvenile, who resides in Elmira Heights, was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony.
The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into a burglary that occurred during the overnight hours of December 16, 2024. Following an initial inquiry by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, the case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.
Through continued efforts, investigators identified a second suspect linked to the incident. This development comes after a prior arrest of another juvenile in connection with the same case.
On February 6, 2025, the second juvenile was taken into custody and later released to a guardian. The individual is scheduled to appear in Chemung County Family Court at a later date.
